Institute of Islamic Studies was established in 2013 as a part of Social Sciences University of Ankara, which is one of the state universityies of Turkey.  Our institute, operates in the section in “S Block” in the university campus of Ulus, which is one of the central and historical districts of Ankara. Our İnstitue offers M.A. and Ph.D degrees  as well as research projects and scientific activities.

The Institute of Islamic Studies strives to enrich scholarly debate and knowledge through rigorous and innovative research projects, with interdisciplinary approach about Islam in the current global age.

Our institute continues its studies to provide master's and doctoral education with an interdisciplinary approach to contemporary Islamic issues. It aims to grow by adding new programs every year and to provide scientific contribution.

Programs design and supports curricular and collaborative initiatives and assists faculty and students in developing research projects that focus on the rich diversity of İslamic and religious studies thought and practice. Relying on extensive faculty expertise and on Social Science University’s unrivaled reputation for profound linguistic and interdisciplinary  training, our Programs offer numerous opportunities for the study, exploration and the better understanding of Islam and other religious tradition.
